Diabetes Wellness Fair

Monday, November 15, Legacy Meridian Park Medical Center is hosting a Diabetes  Wellness Fair from 3:00-7:00pm. Visit a variety of booths offering valuable information to help you live well with diabetes. Highlights of these booths include new technologies in insulin delivery systems, examples of blood glucose meters, balance screenings, blood pressure checks, risk assessments for heart disease, chair massage, nutrition tips, and much more. After you visit the exhibits, we will offer a light snack before our community health talk which will begin at 5:30pm. Our distinguished speaker, Dr. William Polonsky, is CEO and founder of the Behavioral Diabetes Institute, the world's first organization wholly dedicated to tackling the unmet psychological needs of people with diabetes.  He has published numerous articles as well as the popular book, Diabetes Burnout: What to do When You Can't Take it Anymore.  In Dr Polonsky's presentation you will learn about what creates "diabetes burnout" and the problems of motivation. You will learn the most important strategies for overcoming burnout, making peace with diabetes, and ultimately how to manage diabetes more effectively.
